A glove programme is easy to buy badly because the order looks like apparel. It is not. Four decisions separate gloves that get played from gloves that get drawered.

Ask the handed split first

A right-handed player gloves the left hand. Your field is mostly right-handed, but not entirely, and the lefties notice fastest.

Ask the split, or accept that some share of the order is wrong on arrival.

Stock cadet or plan for returns

Cadet is shorter fingers on a wider palm, and a large share of every field fits it better than regular.

A regular-only order writes those players off before the box is opened.

Pick the material for the use

Cabretta for feel, quoted in rounds because thin wears. Synthetic for volume, weather and range seasons. Rain pairs for the wet, and they grip better wet.

Each is right somewhere. None is right everywhere.

Put the mark on the tab

The back of the hand has to stretch; the tab does not.

A tab mark is small and honest about it. If you need a billboard, buy a towel.

Sizes for a field you cannot measure

Order against a published curve of sizes, cuts and hands, not against a guess.

And print the size on the box end, so the welcome table can read it.
